Rural USA Youth and Yunus Competiions -typical cases- winners from OR NC AL GA
Future Capital Competitions When Muhammad Yunus tried to invite universities within driving reach of washington dc to come and celebrate their students greatest ideas for a day - you might have expected the joy of some of the nation's smartest youth converging 3 social solution directions :
international brave ideas of changing the sustainability of farming and schools across the nation of Zambia ; helping ceos remodel triple value multiplying futures; the most economical car pooling portal for students
national -brilliant execution-plan of web portal for sustainable tourism to native American destinations; brilliant negative carbon innovation for energy needs of rural homes
dc capital (though no team turned up with this focus this year- we love the mayors office promise that teams with a brilliant idea needing tech support can expect mentoring help from living social)
well the good news of the inaugural competition is the quality per project was at an all time high - the bad news, most universities refused to join in this inaugural event because they preferred boxing bheir students into their own campus
well done to university of district of Columbia as master host especially chief organizer Sylvia Benatti'
and the 7 universities who dared to field a team -Co-partner universities, American University, University of Maryland main campus and easter shore), Salisbury University, Shenandoah University, Howard University, and student fro GWU
-looking forward to next year!!!

hi ken and anna and dc Youth Collaboration Entrepreneur Hosts
I met anna at tri-state student entrepreneur competition inspired by muhammad yunus on saturday and masterminded by Sylvia Benatti and the University of District of Columbia ; I recalled that personally -in 7 years of circulating 2000 books and 10000 dvds of yunus - I have only met one person as involved with representing economic sustainability of native americans namely Ken
You have different approaches- and Anna currently at GWU would probably be the first to admit that her sustainability tourism to native american destination portal is just starting up her lifes passion (serving indigeneous people with her particular skill sets) and intended work, while Ken has entrepreneurially helped native americans market some very big businesses and redesign value chains to sustain their interests
but i am hopeful there may be a positive connection between you -tell me if there is anything else I can say, do (anna if you have an electronic copy of your presentation that you would like to pass round please send it)
my next year at Norman Macrae Foundation for Pro-Youth Economics is being spent as much as possible helping educators survey what 12 minute training modules millions of youth want circulated online and free - a module on native american issues would be interesting if people like you helped shape its actionable content
sincerely
chris macrae
I also cc
sylvia as our host on saturday
alex simon until recently an uber networker of sustainability students out of GWU who will also likely know any relevant who's who across DC students; brian weinberg another graduate uber-student who currently tracks sustainability investment portfolio out of bethesda and towards south america - anna's roots make her passionate about indigenous peoples in s. america too (Bolivia being a case in point)
professor bhuiyan, dr yunus great friend and compatriot, who has been connecting student competitions across more than hundred historically black colleges for 12 years now and hosts his annual event out of Atlanta at end of this week april 18-20, 2013 www.ofcvc.org
anna when I look at what motivates students most from yunus stateswide competitions- new curriculum of nutrition and food security are the number 1 demand and sb social solutions pitched
do tell me if at some future stage nutrition is a story your portal on sustainable tourism around native americans can linkin with - I recall that when Jamie Oliver did his PBS tour of usa he stopped off with the Navejo Indian in Arizona for at least 30 minutes of tv broadcasting - here's a reference to that http://www.jamieoliver.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=675862
Jamie Oliver is arguably youth's favorite diet entrepreneur having made school meals his issue first in UK then US - school meals are exactly the sort of open source franchise that yunus youth networks love to remedy something John Mackey Yunus number 1 corporate supporter in US has picked up on at www.wholekidsfoundation.org
